About the role
As a CBRE Project Management Senior Manager, you'll lead a
portfolio of projects and a team of project managers responsible
for executing Data Center projects on behalf of a dedicated
client.
This job is part of the Project Management function. Your team will
be responsible for the management of projects from initiation
through completion.
This is a hybrid role that may require regular visits to project
sites or the client's preferred office location in one of the
posted locations.
What you'll do
Provide formal supervision to employees serving the client in an
owner's rep capacity.
Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance,
coaching, and motivating team members. Conduct performance
evaluations and mentoring. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new
employees
Manage a team that is responsible for all facets of project
management (scope, budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk)
for individual real estate projects including planning, design,
construction, occupancy, and closeout.
Projects in the portfolio will include seismic retrofits, tenant
improvements, major building renovations, and ground-up
construction for a regional southern California client. Project
size is typically in the $1-$5M range but for ground up can be
$50M+ Demonstrate capability to read, understand, and apply
standards to complex documents affecting real estate projects,
including but not limited to agreements/contracts, leases, work
letters, project charters, surveys, and drawings.
Interact directly with clients to define project requirements,
prepare the scope of work, project delivery resource requirements,
cost estimate & budget, cash flow, work plan schedule & milestones,
quality control, and risk identification.
Identify project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or
through individual project qualification processes; conduct
standard to complex requests for proposals; complete bid analysis;
lead evaluation interviews, recommend resources to clients.
Lead team (typically larger more experienced team) providing
project mentorship and direction to achieve project goals.
Supervise the progress of each project against goals, objectives,
approved budgets, and approved timelines. Reports status and
variances. Create action plans to meet objectives, budget, and
schedule.
Implement change management routines to assess change requests,
make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change
orders. Assesses change requests to resolve impacts on scope,
budget, schedule, quality, and risk.
Identify complex project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk
mitigation and backup plans.
Work cross-functionally with other business lines to achieve the
company's strategic business objectives.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE
RISE values. Influence others to embrace a different point of view
while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
Identify and solve technical and operational problems of
complexity.
Understand and recognize the broader impact across the
department.
Improve and change existing methods, tools, processes, and
standards.
What you'll need
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United
States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the
future.
Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of proven experience.
In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will
be considered. LEED AP, PMP, and CCM designations preferred.
Leadership skills to empower the team to achieve broad operational
targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job
disciplines, and department.
Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training,
development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and
rewarding performance and retention.
Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and
difficult information, convey performance expectations.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most
sophisticated business documents. Ability to respond effectively to
critical issues, and write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles
using a distinctive style.
Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex
topics to employees, clients, top management, and/or public groups.
Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with key employees,
top management, and client groups to take the desired action.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include
Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Extensive interpersonal
skills and a sophisticated inquisitive mindset.
Working understanding of financial terms and principles. Ability to
calculate complex figures, forecast, and prepare budgets. May
conduct financial/business analysis including the preparation of
reports.

Equal Pay Disclaimer: CBRE Carefully considers multiple factors to
determine compensation, including a candidate's education,
training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is
$150,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is
$175,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful
candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications,
and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a
discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
