Job Description:
A local bank is searching for a BSA Officer. The right candidate
can work in any of the banks multiple locations and will supervise
4-5 employees in multiple loactions as well. Position Summary: The
BSA Officer is responsible for the development, implementation, and
administration of all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act Compliance
Program. This role ensures the bank adheres to all BSA/AML
(Anti-Money Laundering), OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control),
and related regulatory requirements. The BSA Officer leads the
identification, monitoring, reporting, and resolution of BSA/AML
risks across the institution. Key Responsibilities: Develop,
maintain, and revise the bank’s BSA/AML/OFAC compliance programs,
policies, and procedures. Monitor and report suspicious activity;
file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction
Reports (CTRs) in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure ongoing
compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and
guidance. Manage the bank’s BSA/AML software systems, including
transaction monitoring and customer due diligence tools. Conduct
enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers. Oversee the
Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Know Your Customer (KYC)
procedures. Lead BSA/AML risk assessments and recommend necessary
controls or changes. Prepare and present regular reports to senior
management and the Board of Directors. Coordinate independent
audits and regulatory examinations; ensure timely resolution of
findings. Train bank personnel on BSA/AML compliance and fraud
prevention. Serve as the primary point of contact for
BSA/AML-related inquiries. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Finance, Criminal Justice, or related field; advanced
degree or certifications (e.g., CAMS) preferred. 7-10 years or more
successful experience within the BSA/AML financial field. Strong
knowledge of BSA, AML, OFAC, and related regulatory requirements.
Experience with BSA/AML software systems and tools. Excellent
analytical, communication, and investigative skills. Ability to
work independently and manage multiple priorities in a regulated
environment. Preferred Certifications: Certified Anti-Money
Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certified BSA/AML Professional (CBAP)
