Job Title: Accountant Job Summary: To perform basic accounting
functions such as ledger/fund maintenance, payroll, fund
reconciliation, posting, and fiscal control of inventory. To
prepare financial reports and resolve problems related to funds,
budgets, expenditures, reimbursements, and/or procurement
practices. Education & Experience Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or
completion of a post-bachelor's Accounting certificate program.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration required: N/A Knowledge,
Skills & Abilities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of
standard accounting principles, concepts, and procedures. Skill in
the use of personal computers and related financial and/or
accounting software applications. Verbal and written communication
skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze and interpret
financial data and prepare financial reports. Ability to set up and
maintain financial accounts and ledgers. Responsibilities Analyzes
accounts, records, reports, and accounts receivable and payable,
journal vouchers, general and subsidiary ledgers, and other
accounting documents for accuracy and completeness; investigates
and resolves questionable entries. Monitors departmental or unit
revenue and expense accounts; ensures expenditure control and
compliance with funding and reporting requirements, university
policy, and standard accounting procedures. Prepares recurring
reports such as monthly financial statements, leave, and personnel
activity reports; processes vouchers and purchase orders. Prepares,
reviews, and processes budget, revenue, expense, payroll, and
related correcting entries. Reconciles financial statements and
fixed assets. Interacts and trains departmental staff regarding
finance policies and procedures and funding requirements; liaises
with vendors, funding source representatives, and patients. The
