Job Description:
Characteristics of Work Under the direction of the Associate
Vice President of Head Start and Early Childhood Programs, the
Center Administrator Mentor will provide mentoring to classroom
staff through guidance, coaching, modeling, training, support, and
information in the following areas (CLASS, TS Gold, Classroom
Management, Curriculum planning/lesson plans, classroom set up,
Transitions, and other areas as identified). This position works
closely with the teaching staff and the Children’s Services
Director to coordinate classroom-related activities that support
the Professional Development of staff and contribute to successful
child outcomes. Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in Early
Childhood Education or a related field two (2) years experience of
having worked with preschool children and families in a child
development program. Ability to communicate effectively.
Supervisory Control The Mentor Coach is directly responsible to the
Children’s Services Director, who is responsible to the Vice
President, Head Start and Early Childhood Programs. The Mentor
Coach will be evaluated semi-annually by the Children’s Services
Director. The evaluation will be conducted through a process of
performance monitoring and progress reviews. The evaluation will be
reviewed and approved by the Vice President, of Head Start and
Early Childhood Programs.
