EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:Four-year degree in Business or related experience in the foodservice industry; industry experience should be related to sales, marketing and/or purchasing to insure understanding of products and customer needs. Individual must be detail oriented with excellent communication and data management skills. The individual must be self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills. Candidate must be proficient in current software applications including but not limited to MS Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Outlook and adaptable in learning new technologies.ATTRIBUTES NEEDED: Strong communication skills to manage information between the Purchasing and Marketing Departments. Presentation skills to engage with Sales Teams and suppliers; ability to perform at a high level within a stressful environment; strong work ethic; goal oriented strategic thinker; structured and disciplined approach to time management.OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:Primary responsibilities are strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, performance and risk management, reporting and analysis of management information to identify potential improvement opportunities, identify innovative procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organization, facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within category to improve business performance.SPECIFIC DUTIES:- Work with the Purchasing Team on execution of vendor and/or product line conversions to grow sales, profit and exclusive brands sales improvement.- Participation in all Core Group Meetings and Calls with IMA (Independent Marketing Alliance) and communicate necessary information to key stake holders.- Analyze, report and provide commentary to the executive team on category performance.- Engage with the Marketing Team to provide sales team the necessary tools and information to grow category sales and margins.- Review vendor lines for opportunities to expand or reduce SKU's based on profitability, performance, consumer preference and other market relevant factors.- Maintain knowledge of foodservice products, trends, market conditions, prices and supply chain stability with primary categories.- Communicate with sales to inform them of shortages, market information, vendor issues and opportunity buys when appropriate.- Attend and actively participate in sales meetings and other company events when required.
