The Patient Care Manager is accountable and responsible
twenty-four hours a day for managing and guiding all the activities
of both the Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units, including, but
not limited to, the staff, environment, and patients. In addition,
the Patient Care Manager is held accountable for functioning within
the unit budget by using cost-effective methods while maintaining
safe quality patient care. She/he is directly accountable and
responsible to the Director of Women and Children's Services.
Employs organizational strategies in a balanced approach that
produces meaningful contributions to each element of the Formula
for Success. Requires the promotion of and adherence to the
organization's established Compliance Program and Standards of
Conduct. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide
care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also
demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development
and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the
patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed
to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age
specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Education: Graduate
of a recognized non-online RN program with a bachelor degree in
nursing required.Work Experience: Two to five years experience in
nursing required. Prior management experience with demonstrated
leadership behaviors is preferred. Required to be able to
clinically participate in all components of the nursing process.
Certification/Licensure: Current RN license - Mississippi State
Board of Nursing required. BLS certification required.
