to work! Purpose: Provides overall strategic and tactical
management and leadership to the Mississippi Plant to meet site
objectives (e.g., workplace health and safety, environmental and
sustainability, cost control, quality standards, positive employee
morale and culture, etc). Guides the formulation and implementation
of operating plans to assure the profitability and competitiveness
of the plant products, while meeting customer needs and providing a
safe and high-quality work environment. Represents plant in the
community. Job Functions/Accountabilities (Essential & Marginal):
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Operates a safe and environmentally sound plant by installing
proper procedures, equipment controls and training to meet or
exceed all standards, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Oversees operations with goal of continuous improvement in
performance including continued safety and environmental awareness
and the prevention of unsafe acts, spills and releases.
- Directs the plant's manufacturing and support activities toward
the accomplishment of organizational objectives. Develops,
recommends, and implements policies which lead to the production of
plant products at lowest cost consistent with established
specifications for quality according to the production
schedule.
- Defines and recommends short and long range plans or programs
with supporting budget requests to meet or exceed the expectations
of our customers, community, and employees.
- Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and respect for people by
encouraging employee cooperation and involvement. Opens lines of
communications and makes certain that employees are prepared to
meet expectations. Provides opportunities and direction for
employees through training, coaching, developmental experiences,
and identifying personal, plant and company objectives.
- Enhances the plant's relationship and image with the community
by working with local residents, schools and civic groups to better
balance community and plant needs.
- Continuously seeks ways to improve performance of our
facility's operation and ensures that customers' (both internal and
external) needs are met.
- Adhere to the ISO Integrated Management System for Quality,
Environment, and Safety standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the VP of Operations.
TYPICAL ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
- Responsible for ensuring the plant is in compliance with
applicable safety/health/environmental regulations and
requirements.
- Ensure that the site is manufacturing products at the highest
quality, most cost effective, and most productive methods
available.
- Develop site leadership and culture standards through goal
setting, training, and accountability.
- Develop plant annual budget goals to conform with site and
corporate objectives.
- Maintain plant morale and communication by providing plant
objectives, interacting with site leadership, supervision, and
operators daily while providing constant feedback.
- Actively participate in Zeon process improvements and
organizational effectiveness groups including business planning,
process improvements, and plant strategy.
- Work with Zeon leadership teams to help set site-wide goals,
requirements, and direction.
- Develop and maintain accurate and complete production data.
Report production information horizontally and vertically in the
organization. Regular attendance, visibility, and engagement both
in the plant and with corporate partners is essential for
satisfactory performance in this position. Supervises:
Manufacturing Services Manager, Quality Leader, Production
Supervisors, and Administrative Assistant Travel: Less than 10%
Qualifications: Education: Bachelors in Chemical Engineering is
required. Experience: Must have a minimum of 15 years' experience
in a complex chemical manufacturing environment with
multi-functional leadership experience. Other Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization is
essential. Work Conditions: Office environment/Chemical
Manufacturing Plant environment. Extensive time will be spent in
the plant environment. Plant office environment with significant
exposure to Plant elements. Plant environment is a multi-acre site
that includes high noise levels, some exposure to fumes and dust,
and at times working with hazardous materials. This position is
expected to spend a significant portion of each shift walking
through the plant up and down stairs and ladders as required to
adequately direct activities in a large multi-acre facility.
