• Employment Type: Local ContractJob Title: Laboratory TechnicianJob Summary:The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine medical laboratory tests to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Working under the supervision of a medical technologist, the technician will handle laboratory equipment, conduct analyses, and document test results with accuracy and attention to detail. -Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, calibrate, maintain, and clean medical laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct tests and experiments, analyzing results for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Record and report data using charts, graphs, and written narratives.
  • Obtain and process biological specimens; cultivate, isolate, and identify microorganisms for analysis.
  • Examine stained cells under a microscope to detect abnormalities.
  • Collaborate with pathologists to confirm diagnoses when abnormal cells are found.Skills and Qualifications:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • High attention to detail and effective problem-solving ability.
    • Basic ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
    • Understanding of medical procedures, laboratory techniques, and diagnostic practices.
    • Ability to analyze test data and document results accurately.Education and Experience Requirements:
      • CORE LAB
      • GENERALIST [COAG, HEM, UA, ETC EXPERIENCE]
      • ASCP OR AMT CERTIFICATION
      • BSMT, MLS, CLS or BS in Bio or chem with 1 year of relevant experience. OR 2 yr associates degree in medical technology [MLT] with 3-5 years experiencePlease submit your application for this role.
