Job Description:
Characteristics of Work Under the direction of the Children’s
Services Director, the Assistant Children’s Services Director is
responsible for assisting in organizing, managing, and implementing
activities in the children’s services areas to include early
childhood education, disabilities, health, and nutrition services
in making sure they are effectively implemented and evaluated. The
incumbent will also assist in performing activities necessary to
control and coordinate all management and support activities of the
Children’s Services Programs. Qualifications A Master’s Degree in
Early Childhood Education or a related field; three years of
management or administrative-level experience in Head Start or a
similar program; extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local
resources; knowledge of financial practices and budgets; experience
working with diverse populations, including low to moderate-income
families; ability to handle confidential and some complex matters;
experience in computer operations; and effective oral and written
communication skills.
