Facility Information Facility: GSS ND Mandan Sunset Location: Mandan, ND Address: 1011 Boundary Street Northwest, Mandan, ND 58554, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts Job Schedule: Full-time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Salary Range: $20.00 - $29.50 Pay Info: $5000 Sign-on Bonus Job Summary The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) acts as a skilled caregiver for residents during their scheduled shifts in long-term care settings. This role requires a high level of expertise as a certified nursing assistant and involves supporting other staff members as necessary. The NA is responsible for delivering resident-focused nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). They must possess knowledge of age-appropriate care tailored to the physical and psychological needs of residents, as outlined in their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is accountable for adhering to infection prevention protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position often involves supporting other clinical staff while managing individual responsibilities and leading problem-solving efforts. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with essential health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs. Providing psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring, repositioning, and walking, using appropriate techniques and equipment. Facilitating food preparation and dining experiences, ensuring a positive atmosphere during meals. Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes, and communicating any changes in condition to the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs. Offering housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living environments. Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs. Participating in departmental committees and task forces as needed. Completing tasks related to the Restorative Nursing program, including documentation and scheduling. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not mandatory. Minimum age requirement of 16 years. Two years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing. Completion of annual department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required each year. May need to complete Restorative Nursing training within six months. For applicable states, must be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry. Depending on facility requirements, this role may be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating a motor vehicle report and valid driver’s license.
