Facility Information Facility: GSS ND Mandan Sunset Location: Mandan, ND Address: 1011 Boundary Street Northwest, Mandan, ND 58554, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Evening Shifts Job Schedule: Full-time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Salary Range: $19.00 - $25.50 Pay Information: $5000 Sign-On Bonus Job Overview The Nursing Assistant (NA) acts as a caregiver for residents during their scheduled shifts in long-term care settings. This role involves delivering resident-focused nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for providing age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of residents as outlined in their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately. Responsibilities include: Assisting with essential health care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and obtaining vital signs. Providing psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring, repositioning, and walking, using proper techniques and equipment. Facilitating food preparation and dining experiences, ensuring a positive atmosphere during meals. Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes, and communicating any changes in condition to the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs. Offering housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living environments. Supporting wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation. Participating in departmental committees and task forces as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred but not mandatory. Minimum age requirement is 16 years. Previous experience as a nursing assistant in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing, or obtain state certification within four months of starting the position by enrolling in a training program. CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility. Must complete annual department-specific competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required each year. For applicable states, must be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry. This role may require classification as a Category II Driver, necessitating a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license, along with medical qualifications to perform essential driving functions as per organizational policy.
