Job Description About Asteroid Health Asteroid Health is a growing behavioral health organization in Newton, MA, delivering evidence-based mental health treatment across a full continuum of care, from Psychiatric Day Treatment (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) to General Outpatient services and individual therapy. The Opportunity As a Lead Clinician at Asteroid Health, you will serve as a central clinical resource for our interdisciplinary team, bringing strong mental health expertise, sound judgment under pressure, and a genuine commitment to client-centered care. You will deliver high-quality clinical services across levels of care, provide support to the Clinical Director, and help maintain the standards that make our programming effective. What You'll Do Clinical Services Provide individual therapy, group facilitation, and treatment planning across all levels of care in alignment with evidence-based practices and Massachusetts regulations Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and contribute to collaborative, client-centered care planning Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and program standards Provide clinical supervision to counselors and pre-licensed clinicians in accordance with Massachusetts requirements Support continuity of care and coordinate with referral sources and community partners as needed Be available for on-call responsibilities after hours and Evening Program when scheduled Clinical Leadership Provide day-to-day clinical guidance and support to team members Model professional standards, reliability, and composure under pressure Contribute to a team culture grounded in accountability, consistency, and quality care Participate in monthly medical records reviews and QA/QI meetings Assist with readiness activities for state licensing visits, audits, and accreditation surveys as requested Why Join Asteroid Health A leadership team that genuinely values clinical input and invests in getting it right A reflective supervision culture, we practice what we preach when it comes to staff psychological safety Real opportunity to contribute to programming, not just execute it A caseload and staffing structure designed to be sustainable, not heroic Ongoing training, CEU support, and a clear path for clinical advancement Requirements What You Bring Required: Active, unrestricted Massachusetts clinical licensure as LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW, in good standing Master's degree or higher in a behavioral health-related field meeting Massachusetts licensure requirements Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in mental health and/or co-occurring disorder treatment Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support clinical staff Full dedication to this role with no outside business commitments Willingness to be on call after hours when scheduled Reliable, dependable, and able to perform well under pressure Working knowledge of ASAM criteria, co-occurring disorder treatment, and medication-assisted treatment Knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Massachusetts behavioral health regulations Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation standards Preferred: Experience in outpatient, IOP, or higher levels of care Familiarity with QA/QI methodology and data-driven performance improvement Background in reflective supervision and supporting clinician wellbeing Benefits Compensation and Benefits $85,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with licensure and experience, plus a $1,500 sign-on bonus.
