Children's Transitional Care Unit- 2C Job Summary: To assist the
nurse by providing care and treatment of patients in accordance
with UMMC policy and nursing practice laws and regulations. To
perform job duties in accordance with the medical center's purpose.
Education & Experience High school diploma/GED. Certifications,
Licenses or Registration Required: N/A Knowledge, Skills &
Abilities Responsibilities Performs clerical duties, which may
include answering phones, taking and delivering messages, and
providing information to patients. Answers patients' signals,
assesses patient's needs, and communicates request to pertinent
individuals as necessary; provides for needs of the patient and
family members when possible. Records vital signs accurately and
reports any changes to the RN. Informs RN of any unusual
occurrences or changes in patient's condition. Maintains accurate
records (vital signs, I/O, weight, etc.) And reports changes to the
nurse. Performs bath and hygiene measures, feeding and other
activities of daily living as necessary. Participates in the care
of the patient by lifting, turning, and repositioning the patient,
utilizing proper body mechanics and equipment. Escorts and or
transports patients and equipment to various hospital locations, as
required. Helps prepare patients for treatments, exams, procedures
and assists with/chaperones procedures as appropriate in current
clinical setting The duties listed are general in nature and are

borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or
caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations,

carrying up to 75 pounds, occasional crawling, frequent
crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, frequent pushing/pulling,
