Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Job Summary The Recruitment
Specialist holds the primary responsibility for executing and
assisting in the development of recruitment efforts for the College
of Business and Economic Development at The University of Southern
Mississippi. The Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for
establishing and maintaining effective and productive relationships
with prospective students, community colleges, and high schools
that result in increased undergraduate enrollment. The Recruitment
Specialist liaises with colleagues in the Office of Admissions and
ensures seamless collaboration in strategic recruitment efforts,
providing informed recommendations to the dean's office regarding
participation in and launch of strategic initiatives for enrollment
growth. Primary Duties and Responsibilities + Assists the Dean in
developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies that
support the college's strategic recruitment plan and institutional
enrollment goals. + Works collaboratively with the Office of
Admissions, ensuring an open flow of communication between
enrollment management areas and the academic college. Facilitates
campus visits for the college and supports productive communication
with prospective students at all levels of the admissions funnel.+
Routinely conducts off-campus recruitment visits in accordance with
the college's strategic recruitment plan and institutional
enrollment efforts.+ Develops and maintains effective working
relationships with community college partners, select high school
counselors, and other community and university partners.+ Works
collaboratively with the college staff responsible for marketing
and external relations to develop and implement effective
recruitment materials and messaging that support the college's
strategic recruitment plan to include recruitment pamphlets,
prospective student email, and social media recruitment campaigns.+
Represents the college at appropriate on and off campus Office of
Admissions sponsored recruitment and yield events.+ Performs other
duties as assigned by supervisor.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's
degree from an accredited institution in a communications or
related discipline, and one year of employment experience in higher
education, marketing, recruitment, and/or sales. Driver's license
required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities+ Demonstrates a high level
of organizational skill and the ability to manage multiple tasks to
completion under tight time constraints.+ Knowledge of college
degree programs and requirements.+ Ability to travel with
occasional overnight stay required.+ Leverages professional
expertise and University knowledge to assess areas of opportunity,
identify solutions and effectively execute an effective recruitment
plan based on best practices.+ Ability to work successfully with
diverse populations.+ Ability to seek advice and input from others,
recognize when to escalate issues or seek help, and adjust behavior
based on feedback.+ Ability to build and manage productive
relationships with peers, leaders, and customer groups. Skilled
engagement of others to collaborate and provide value added support
that enhances department results and team effectiveness. Skilled in
influencing outcomes and direction of customer's decisions through
effective relationships, trust, and credibility.+ Ability to
deliver accurate, concise, and high quality communication (verbal

feedback.Preferred Qualifications Prior work in college recruitment
with demonstrated results. Experience working with students at
