- Hospital Supply Chain - Hospital Operations Job Summary: To
collaborate in the planning, coordination and management of
materials management staff and areas involved in the receipt,
storage, control, and distribution of medical, surgical, and other
supplies and equipment used in the care and treatment of patients
or other medical center operations. Education & Experience
Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree and three (3)
years of supply chain experience, one (1) of which must have been
in a supervisory capacity. Certifications, Licenses, or
Registration required: N/A Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of financial reporting, inventory
management and analytics experience. Advanced experience and
proficiency with Microsoft applications and add-ons. High level of
proficiency using Excel and Access programs. Responsibilities
Oversees and provides daily management of at least one of the
following functional areas of the hospital supply chain, including:
supply distribution and replenishment, receiving and delivery, mail
services and post office, warehouse inventory management, project
management, and the coordinated supply support system. Knowledge of
materials management. Skill in the use of personal computers and
related software applications. Verbal and written communication
skills, strong interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and
maintain accurate documentation and files. Supervises subordinate
staff to include work allocation, scheduling, training, evaluation,
and problem resolution. Coordinates the receipt, verification,
storage, and distribution of equipment, materials, and supplies;
monitors internal tracking system. Assists in providing training
and coaching of subordinate staff. Maintains area of responsibility
in compliance with the requirements of the Joint Commission and
other regulatory agencies. Coordinates operations to ensure
efficiency and prompt delivery of service. Interfaces with vendors
and hospital representatives to resolve complaints and/or
discrepancies, monitor compliance with institutional policies and
procedures, ensure standards are met, and ensure vendor payment.
Supervises the preparation of shipping and receiving documents and
the maintenance of applicable records and files. Promotes
continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental
practices. Assists and manages projects related to the optimization
of managed PAR supply areas associated with changes in utilization
or product sourcing challenges. Manages and assists with the
placement or opening of new supply locations, including
collaborating with the customer, the collection of usage data, and
the development of supply par levels. The duties listed are general

carrying more than 100 pounds, frequent crouching/stooping,
occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional
pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, frequent
standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking (occasional-up to
