Job Description:
Description Position at Hood Lumber Hood Industries, Inc. is a
blend of wood manufacturing and distribution concerns that include
plywood and lumber manufacturing plants and twenty-three specialty
wood product distribution operations located in eighteen states. We
are seeking a Trimmer Operator position at our sawmill located in
Waynesboro, MS . Y ou will be responsible for operating and
maintaining factory equipment. If you have experience operating
heavy machinery, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities:
Consistently operates Trimmer at production target speeds. Monitors
for saw cuts and ensures boards are even ended. Troubleshoots
typical problems and performs simple maintenance on machine.
Assists Millwright/Lead with repairs on their equipment, as needed.
Fills oilers for saw air cylinders. Understands the importance of
machine guarding, inspects work area to make sure all guards are in
place while working, and stays out of guarded areas unless properly
locked out. Uses equipment correctly and immediately reports
damaged equipment to the Supervisor or Lead Person. Wears all
required PPE. Follows all company safety rules and policies and
keeps assigned area clean. Education/Experience: High school
diploma/GED preferred. Ability to understand, clearly communicate,
and follow all safety rules and policies. Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently or as part of
a team. Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand, eye, and
foot coordination. Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and
overtime as required. Physical Requirements: Performs tasks such as
walking, climbing steps/ladders, sitting, and standing for long
periods. Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body,
arms, and/or legs. Ability to work outside in all conditions, in
and around loud equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
throughout the work shift. Salary Range: $18.11/per hour Additional
