sick and vacation time. Quality Control Inspector II Overview
Quality Control Inspector II will be responsible for the inspection
of machined, fabricated, painted, reworked, and/or repaired parts
or assemblies to customer design, blueprints, and standards.
Inspections will include receiving inspections of materials or
parts, in-process inspections in manufacturing and welding,
nondestructive testing (NDT) of welds, coating inspections such as
Thermal Spray Zinc (TSZ) and multi-part paint schemes, verification
of customer-owned property, and outgoing verification of product.
Quality Control Inspector II will also be able to perform process
audits when required, following the company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality
Management System processes and internal audit forms. Quality
Control Inspector II will report to the Quality Manager but will
need to have the initiative and drive to work autonomously. Quality
Inspector II General Responsibilities
- Perform complex measurements on purchased and manufactured
mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials.
- Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality.
- Perform documentation review and verification of
certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and
specification requirements.
- Ensure that all parts meet engineering drawings, purchase
order(s), industry standards, and company specifications.
- Perform NDT inspections and coating inspections on manufactured
components and customer-owned materials and report out the
results.
- Support the corrective action process, including verifying
corrective action implementation and effectiveness.
- Program, set up, and utilize Articulating Arm (ex. Romer) to
achieve the desired inspections.
- Review manufacturing documents to ensure all operations have
been completed and signed and conduct regular audits of the
manufacturing process.
- Approve or reject raw materials concerning quality standards
and record supplier performance
- Prepare reports for the Quality Manager and customers, and
document nonconformances and corrective actions.
- Remove products that don't meet production standards and
recommend strategies to improve product quality.
- Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI) or First
Part Qualifications (FPQ).
- Perform validation of inspection tools and maintain the
calibration database. Qualifications for Quality Inspector II
- High School Diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and
specifications using ASME Y14.5 GD&T and skillful use of
metrology tools and gauges.
- Practical experience working within quality management systems
(AS9100 or ISO 9001) preferred.
- Romer Arm experience with Verisurf software preferred.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting,
pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally
required to perform the functions of this position.
- Experience in Microsoft 360 tools.
- Ability to work in variable temperatures.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities
and tasks as delegated Strong communication skills, both verbal and
