matchPOSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is to perform
laboratory tests on raw and finished paper products to determine if
the product conforms to specifications. Decision-making regarding
the results is also part of the everyday routine of the
technician.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collect product samples for quality
tests at specified stages in the production process and perform
tests for a variety of characteristics such as basis weight,
tensile, dispensability, diameter, sheet count and others. Operate
the quality testing equipment needed to perform the job. Compare
product testing results with customer specifications to determine
conformance. Reject and documents non-conforming products and
notifies appropriate personnel for corrective action. Maintain
accurate documentation of all quality tests performed. Input all
finished product and raw material data into computerized quality
spreadsheets. Regularly check calibration of lab equipment and
documents results. Assist in conducting internal audits to verify
product, packaging, raw material, etc. / meet GBC and customer
requirements. Utilize computer software to chart trends and to
assist in the company continuous improvement efforts. Assist in the
raw material and finished product Hold/Reject process. Carries out
special projects or duties as requested by the Quality or
Manufacturing staff. Assist in the re-work process. Work with
Quality and Manufacturing in locating problems and solving them in
a root cause fashion for out of specification conditions on
finished product or raw materials. Maintain a clean and organized
work area. Perform any other related duties as assigned.POSITION

situations.SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Diploma (or
equivalent) preferred Experience: 1+ years of relevant experience
working in Quality Assurance strongly preferred Computer Skills:
Possess basic computer skills - especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
Competency: Possess good organizational, analytical, and
