Job Description Job Description BCforward is currently seeking highly motivated Senior UX Writer in Newton, MA 02459 Job Title: Senior UX Writer (Contract) Location: Newton, MA 02459 Duration: 11 Months Pay Rate: $53.33 – $66.00/hour About the Role: Are you a systems-minded storyteller who simplifies complex ideas into confident, intuitive experiences? Seeking a Senior UX Writer to craft clear, accessible, and effective in-product content across mobile and web platforms. You will partner closely with product designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers within a pod-based agile environment. This role owns voice, clarity, accessibility, and consistency across the entire product lifecycle—from onboarding to error states and beyond. Key Responsibilities Product Content Design & Experience Write high-impact microcopy (buttons, labels, menus) and contextual messaging (tooltips, confirmations, errors). Craft and refine in-app copy for core journeys (onboarding, servicing, payments). Design content for empty states, progressive disclosure, help content, and recovery flows. Partner with Design and Research on usability studies, A/B testing, and comprehension testing. Use analytics and research insights to optimize task completion, comprehension, and CSAT. Design System & Content Standards Maintain and evolve voice & tone guidelines, content standards, and structured content models. Contribute reusable content patterns to the design system (Figma components specs). Ensure content meets accessibility (WCAG) and regulatory requirements. Research & Strategy: Define and test content hypotheses; validate language, IA labels, and concepts. Conduct competitive analysis and identify opportunities for simplification. Map content across journeys and identify inconsistencies and content debt. Collaboration & Communication: Act as the pod’s content lead, participating in backlog grooming, stand-ups, and reviews. Partner with Engineering to ensure accurate implementation and localization. Present content decisions clearly to stakeholders. Maintain high editorial standards for grammar, accuracy, and brand voice. Required Qualifications: 4–6 years of UX Writing or Content Design experience for digital products. Strong portfolio showing in-product writing, flows, states, and experiments. Expertise in microcopy, information hierarchy, and error/recovery messaging. Experience planning and interpreting usability testing and A/B testing. Proficiency with Figma and content tooling. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Strong organization, time management, and adaptability. Nice to Have: Experience working in agile pod/squad environments. Background in regulated or complex industries. Familiarity with product analytics. Scriptwriting or motion content experience.
